There’s nothing like seeing an outdoor concert on a warm summer night. Boarding House Park in Lowell, MA hosts an annual summer music series, and each concert draws a blended crowd of twenty-somethings, families, and older couples, equipped with lawn chairs and blankets to claim a space on the grassy lawn.

Past performers at Boarding House Park include the Indigo Girls, Lyle Lovett, K.D. Lang, and Gaelic Storm. Special kids’ shows at Boarding House Park are free, and have an arts and crafts component in addition to the music. The venue also hosts a popular folk music festival for one weekend each summer.

It’s just as well since most patrons opt to drive from Boston, parking in the lot across the street.
