No matter what kind of music you’re into, be it Bach or the Beastie Boys, odds are that one of the music festivals that pass through Boston or one of its suburbs each year will tickle your fancy.
College Fest is held every September at the Hynes Convention Center. Students from the multitude of colleges in the area flock to the event each year to catch up-and-coming hip-hop, rap, and electronica artists on the cheap and to grab freebies from exhibitors. Past performers have included Talib Kweli and Chris Webby.
The Warped tour stops each year in Mansfield, less than an hour outside the city. Alternative rock fans bang their heads to the likes of The Used, Rise Against, and Taking Back Sunday.
For easy listening aficionados, the Tanglewood music festival spans several months and features classical music as well as light rock acts and dance groups. The festival takes place in Western Massachusetts near the Berkshire Mountains, one of the most scenic spots in the state. And no need to haul chairs along with you – lawn chairs are available for rent for a mere $5.
Classical to punk, rock to rap, there are music festivals in Boston that offer something for every taste.
