Boston is a city with an immense amount of pride, and when the denizens aren’t gushing over their favorite sports teams, they’re celebrating in the streets and parks for any number of festivals throughout the year.
With a long Irish history in the city, it should come as no surprise that one of the biggest festivals in Boston takes place every March 17th for St. Patrick’s Day. The annual celebration features a massive parade through the streets of the city as thousands decked out in green garb flock to watch the decorated parade floats.
For food and drink lovers there are a bunch of festivals at your disposal. Chowderfest is exactly what it sounds like and has been feeding soup connoisseurs since the early 80s. For beer, there’s the Boston Beer Summit with over 60 participating brewers and hundreds of beers.
The 4th of July is another festive time in Boston, as national pride takes over the city and thousands of residents and visitors post up on the river and waterfronts to witness the annual concerts and fireworks displays.
No matter the time of year, there’s always an event and festival to take part in, so if you want good beer, great food, or just want to show some down home pride, there are plenty of Boston festivals for you.
