Every Friday, The Pill at Allston staple Great Scott is a sweaty, no-holds-barred dance night for the plaid-clad indie set. DJs Ken and Michael V spin cutting-edge tracks from local Boston bands as well as jams from punk/emo heavy hitters like Joy Division, David Bowie, and The Cure.

For those who lean toward a Top 40 type of club, Rumor hosts one of the most popular Friday nights in the city. A set list of Top 40, dance, R&B, and rap spun by resident DJs Hectik, Dres, and Lus keep the wild young urbanites’ hands in the air all night long during “Hush” Fridays—although the patrons are anything but quiet.

The artsy set flocks to “DJs on the Harbor” at the Institute of Contemporary Art each Friday night in the summer. Rotating electronic and alternative DJs spin on the ICA’s expansive outside deck while fun-loving guests of all ages and decked out in a variety of attire – from cocktail dresses to flannel shirts and sneakers – dance it up with bottles of craft beer in hand.
