Party Earth Review: Partiers looking for more than just a bar in the Allston area should head to Wonder Bar, a versatile venue that combines cool hangout with a rowdy club experience. Scattered couches and tables in the lower level lounge provide plenty of chill-out space for the after-work groups looking to blow off steam over fancy drinks, as gaggles of animated bachelorette and birthday party guests are whisked off to sectioned areas with their dedicated waitresses, bottles, and mixers. Although there is a well-populated dance floor in the lounge, the wildest action takes place upstairs when throngs of preppy college kids and young professionals in their finest dancing gear show up later on to get down to DJs or live bands. As the night progresses, the heady combination of music, booze, and girls dancing on tables turns Wonder Bar into a seething mass of grinding bodies, as both floors overflow with dance fiends and drunken pick-up lines. Anyone who craves a crazy club scene without the door anxiety will find it at Wonder Bar. ... read full review |
