Junction Bar is a live music venue with lots of character, a down-to-earth feel, and nightly featured bands that play everything from blues and jazz to rock and hip-hop.

This candlelit basement bar with its collection of black-and-white photos of musicians has a quaint, intimate atmosphere and the same red-and-black décor as the Junction Café upstairs.

The stage is the focal point at Junction, but there is also a small bar and a dance floor that fills up fast on the weekends, as well as a side room with sofas and chairs that welcomes patrons taking a break from the music.

The shows here tend to vary widely, by talent as well as by genre, but any show from Thursday to Sunday is likely to impress.

Most shows last more than two hours, after which a DJ takes over to keep the place jumping until 5am.

Naturally the clientele is as diverse as the music schedule, but most nights draw a crowd of music lovers ready to enjoy the live performance and then fill the dance floor once the DJs begin.
