Berlin Festivals Overview
Known globally as the capital of the European music scene, there are of course a ton of great music festivals in Berlin. However, Berlin festivals aren’t limited to music as there are stellar celebrations for all the arts plus food, beer, and more.
Setting the stage for all the great music events in the city is the Berlin Music Week. The weeklong festival features the famous international music trade fair Popkomm, multiple club-related festivals, and Berlin Festival, which features major international musicians and stars. There’s also JazzFest Berlin, which has been highlighting the world’s finest jazz musicians since 1964.
For movie buffs, there’s the Berlin International Film Festival, which is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, as well as smaller film fests throughout the year. For literary lovers, meanwhile, the Literaturfestival Berlin is one of the biggest book festivals in the world.
But if you’re just looking for some great German beer, there’s no better festival to attend than the International Berlin Beer Festival. Taking place every August, this suds extravaganza features thousands of different beers from countries all over the world. Pace yourself.
Regardless of what kinds of festivals you’re looking for, there are plenty in Berlin to choose from whether you want stellar beer, out of this world music, or incredible film and art.
