Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week - Spring 2013 Fashion Event Jul 3–8, 2012

Berlin Fashion Week is a semi-annual fashion trade show held at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. During the July fashion week, designers’ Ready-to-Wear, Haute Couture, and men’s Spring/Summer collections for the following year are debuted, while January’s fashion week features Fall/Winter collections.

Berlin Fashion week, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, is one of many fashion weeks held internationally. Other major fashion weeks include New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week.

Some of the prominent participating design houses include Escada and Hugo Boss along with German designer Kilian Kerner and Turkish designer Burce Bekrek. Each designer produces a runway show with its own elaborate theme that radiates artistic talent and creativity.

Berlin Fashion Week also features a Designer for Tomorrow fashion show presenting emerging young designers. Established designers like Marc Jacobs have hosted past shows.

The Fashion Week spectacle attracts international fashion editors like Christiane Arp, models like Joan Smalls, and photographers like Mario Testino who attend private after parties to celebrate their favorite designers’ successes.

During the week, the city comes alive with an energy that crowds local restaurants like Borchardt with some of the most influential names in fashion, entertainment, and art eager to join in on the excitement of Fashion Week.
