WEST BERLIN –
Both a live jazz concert venue and a bar, Quasimodo is an animated club that attracts some of the best jazz acts from around the world.
The traditional concert venue caters to a jazz-loving crowd that, depending on the band, either sits in rapt silence or lets loose to classic covers.
Upstairs, the charming bar and café features sleek dark wood, pale yellow walls, and modern art exhibits that serve as conversation pieces for the artsy, appreciative crowd. A calm, soothing ambiance welcomes the lounging patrons, who gather to discuss music and art into the wee hours.
Downstairs, the modern yet homey concert venue sports classic jazz club staples like a polished wood bar and slick black chairs, not to mention a sound system often described as one of the best in town.
The bar shares a courtyard with a theater and a cinema and stays open until the last guest leaves, which makes Quasimodo an excellent option for late-night drinks in an outdoor setting.
Varies depending on the act, but often low-key jazz lovers, 20s and up.
Live music almost every night can include jazz, rock, and blues.
The Quasimodo Café located above the club serves breakfast, sandwiches, salads, and snacks. Café is open 4:30pm–late.
Cover charge €13–€25. Beer €2.60–€4, wine €3.50–€4, cocktails €6–€9, mixed drinks €6. Café: breakfast €2.50–€7, sandwiches €5.50+.
The better acts can draw a big crowd. The music starts at 10:30pm. Check the website for the performance schedule.
