Gretchen Club is located in the heart of Berlin’s culturally diverse Kreuzberg.

Performances at Gretchen Club are mostly in the genres of electro, electronica, house, dubstep, glitch, hip-hop and experimental. Concerts at Gretchen Club have included such acts as Quantic, DJ Questlove from the Roots, the Stereo MCs, Shadow Dancer, Netsky and Mr. Scruff.

Gretchen Club gets its name from a character from Goethe’s Faust who commits matricide, fratricide, and infanticide to justify an illegitimate love.

The building that houses Gretchen Club was built in the nineteenth century and served as the stables of Queen Victoria’s Prussian 1st Guards Dragoon Regiment. The interior of Gretchen Club is noted for its beautiful vaulted ceiling and delicate concrete columns.
