Comedy Club Kookaburra Comedy Club

Comedy Club Kookaburra is located in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district. Despite its trendy location, the club’s character stems from its garish and almost ironic interior replete with a carpeted stage and pictures of smiling comics.

Located in a former bank, the basement of Club Kookabura is home to one of Berlin’s oldest working bank vaults.

Past performers at Club Kookaburra have included such German comedians as Kurt Krömer, Carolin Kebekus, Hennes Bender, John King, Gabi Decker, Mirja Boes, Konrad Stoeckel, David Leukert, Murat Topal, Bodo Wartke, and Sebastian Krämer.

For English-speaking expatriates and tourists, Club Kookuburra also offers many international programs. Twice a week, there are English comedy events, such as the improv sports show, the Laugh Olympics, the English Comedy Night, and Comedy Gone Wild.

Other events at Club Kookaburra include cabaret shows by acts such as Achim Knorr, Chin Meyer, and Ass-Dur.

The owner of Club Kookaburra, Sanjay Shihora, is an Indian comic with much small-screen success. When he is not performing himself, Shihora is behind the bar, serving patrons.
