Kreuzberg / Neukölln, Berlin –
Despite the numerous club options in Berlin, Club der Visionaere manages to separate itself from the pack, most notably by moving the club experience outdoors.
The sprawling multilevel space, which overlooks one of the many canals that run through Kreuzberg, makes an immediate impression with a pair of giant backlit willow trees that greet visitors as they pass through the club’s gates.
The venue continues to surprise with a dance floor floating in the river and a seemingly endless labyrinth of docks and cabins where patrons can relax and chat.
The tasteful minimal and electronic music, accompanied by multicolored lights that change in time with the beat, attracts a spirited club crowd eager to dance, but the outdoor setting also draws in laid-back patrons content to use the music as a pleasant backdrop for conversation.
When guests get hungry, a short climb up one of several wooden staircases built into the canal will lead them to the club’s pizzeria, which offers an excellent selection of delicious brick-oven pizzas.
With its inexpensive cover charges and understated yet visually stunning environment, Club der Visionaere packs in a crowd all summer long.
Mixed bunch of casual corner-lurkers and trendy dance-floor denizens, late teens to 30s.
DJs spin minimal, electronic, and house every night.
Pizza.
Cover charge €1–€5. Pizza €5–€8. Beer €2.50, wine €3.50, shots €2.
Anything goes.
