Mitte, Berlin –
A beach bar right in the middle of the city, Strandbar Mitte is located across from Museum Island on the banks of the Spree, Berlin’s main river.
Warm summer days find the supremely relaxed patrons lying out on the sand, sipping Coronas under the palm trees, and soaking up the sun in one of the 200 beach chairs.
Once the sun goes down, the beachy vibe is enhanced by the tiki-style bar and the colorful light pattern that shimmers and reflects off the buildings across the river.
The energy and the crowd increase as the hours pass and the DJs start their sets, enticing guests out onto the sand-covered dance floor.
Whether for midday refreshments or midnight dancing, it’s hard to go wrong with Strandbar and its breezy, tranquil atmosphere.
Diverse and easygoing. All ages during the day, early 20s to 30s at night.
Ambient house beats, mellow hip-hop, and reggae.
Pastries, desserts, and brick oven pizza during the day.
Pastries and desserts €2.50, pizza €5–€9. Beer €2.50–€3.50+, wine €3–€4, cocktails €5–€7, mixed drinks €5.50–€6, drink deposit €0.50/bottle, €1/glass, and €2/mug.
Casual.
This place is especially packed on weekend nights in the summer, but there’s a crowd any time it’s nice out.
