Party Earth Review: Habermeyer is a cozy bar and lounge that lives by its motto “There can’t be good living where there’s no good drinking.” Its classic Berlin retro décor consists of casual but modern furniture thrown together haphazardly and a deep red glow that emanates from funky lighting fixtures, though the most distinctive feature is the odd assortment of variously-sized concrete pipes that create a mosaic protruding from the walls. Patrons gather in the front room to enjoy the music at the intimate bar or on the dance floor, while two other rooms offer a more peaceful atmosphere for mingling and private conversation. Guests who come on their own might want to hang out near the chatty bartenders, who have been known to instigate the occasional impromptu sing-along to classic rock songs. Welcoming and casual, Habermeyer is a great place to escape the more touristy bars that dot the neighborhood.
