A rustic bohemian nightspot, Bar 11’s mix of modern artwork, funky chandeliers, and horse-head sculptures provides a suitable backdrop for the crowd of alternative patrons lounging in the comfy armchairs and sofas or gathered at the scattered café tables.

During the summer, the handful of outdoor benches get crowded in the early evening as regulars and casual passersby alike meet up to watch the Kreuzberg night scene come to life.

Later in the night, and in winter, patrons retreat back inside to gather under the tiled mosaics in the bar’s long, narrow main room where DJs spin progressively louder house and techno, often accompanied by impromptu drum circles that add a live backbeat to the music.

Though cool artistic details enhance Bar 11's vibe, it’s always the laid-back clientele that determines the mood.

Tip from Emma:

Bar 11 is small and almost always full, and the bartenders seem to prefer chatting to taking drink orders. It’s great that they’re so friendly, but if you ever want to get some refreshment, you may need to be politely aggressive – especially on the weekend.
