There is such a wide variety of bars in Berlin that it’s easy to party all night, every night of the week – especially because of the really late closing hours. Berlin bars are practically on every corner, and many of them offer both an exciting atmosphere and a packed dance floor.
Berlin’s alternative and progressive attitude lends the city an exceptional diversity throughout its various bars and a wonderful come-as-you-are mindset is reflected in the wohnzimmer (living room) style adopted by many nightlife establishments throughout the city, which helps create a relaxed atmosphere and evokes the feel of a private house party.
When it warms up, Berlin’s beer culture comes alive with a variety of bars and beer gardens offering outdoor drinking, in addition to “beach bars” that are scattered along the Spree River.
The city is chock full of laid-back bars and down to earth drinking dens but if you’re looking for something a little more high-end, you can find it – even if you have to look a little harder.
Although some areas of Berlin can be a bit chaotic in appearance – especially in Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain – the city overall is safe and all-night public transit keeps the party going at bars well into the wee hours.
