Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899 is located at Carrer de Bosch i Gimpera, 5 in Barcelona, Spain. Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899 was born in 1899 as a private tennis club called the Lawn Tennis Club of Barcelona by a group of English ex-patriots who wished to popularize tennis in Spain. In 1953, the venue was re-named and moved to its current location which, at the time, only had nine courts. Currently, it is still a private tennis club; however, it now contains 18 clay courts and boasts a stadium court which seats 7,200 spectators as well as a show court which can seat 2,000 spectators. Since 1953, the most popular event at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899 has been the Open Godó, or Barcelona Open, Spain's second most important tournament on the ATP tour after the Madrid Masters.

One of the most notable athletes to play at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899 is Raphael Nadal who has won the singles title at the Open Godó more than any other player.
