Party Earth Bar Lobo Review

The Scene

Bar Lobo in Barcelona’s Las Ramblas is a trendy but unpretentious spot for great lunches & late-night lounging. Pull up a chair in Barcelona with Party Earth.

Located just off the famous Las Ramblas thoroughfare, Bar Lobo is a trendy bar and tapas joint that usually feels worlds away from its tourist-packed surroundings.

Although the bar doesn’t completely avoid the crunch of out-of-towners, the number of dapper vacationers is often matched by the number of stylish local couples, both on the cozy street-side terrace and throughout the venue’s two airy floors.

Pastel accents and bright white walls, a high ceiling, and a mix of Japanese paper lanterns and repurposed books-turned-lights give the space a beachy feel, while bare wood furnishings and tables adorned with fresh herbs add extra touches of lightness.

That coastal vibe carries over to the packed lunchtime scene, when many regulars in carbon-copy cream shirts and linen pants feast on modern tapas like seared tuna and Andalusian shrimp, or the traditional small plates whose smells waft from the open kitchen.

There are no DJs at night, just an eclectic mix of funky ambient beats that attract a cool mix of mellow post-theater creatives and snazzy club types who’d rather gather over sangria and strawberry mojitos than hit a raucous dance floor – at least for a little while.

Perfect for a classy lunch or an elegant but unpretentious evening, Bar Lobo offers the comfort of a friend’s living room with the added bonus of lots of fetching new friends-to-be.

Tip from Jonah:

In the mood for something distinctly non-tapas related? Grab the Lobo Burger – or any of the other burgers on the menu – and prepare to gorge yourself on a thick, herb-encrusted patty with a hearty helping of shoestring fries.
