Partying in Barcelona: The Alternative View of the City's Social Scene

Jun 11, 2012 —  Barcelona simply can’t be beat for just hanging out and soaking up its unique, laid-back vibe – and with tons of free cultural activities and festivals, as well as fantastic weather, there’s always something to see or do.

By day, there’s nothing better than chilling out at one of the beautiful parks with all the other weird and wonderful hippies, sharing some sangria or beer with friends (technically illegal, but no one seems to care!), or perhaps practicing some skateboarding tricks with the alternative crowd that hangs out at some of the outdoor plaças.

Barcelona also has a solid range of live music venues to check out, with bands playing everything from jazz to post-rock, as well as some alternative clubs for after-hours fun. Everything is open late, so no one is ever in a hurry in this city.
