Jun 11, 2012 — A lively party city that won’t break the bank, Barcelona offers so much great culture and architecture – not to mention the beaches – that it’s nearly impossible not to find something to do.
Afternoons are best spent meandering the narrow medieval streets and picturesque plaças of the Old Town, soaking up the carnival vibe on Las Ramblas, or checking out the mind-boggling works of Gaudí.
In the evenings, the city’s myriad small cafés and bars hum with activity, especially in the beautiful Passeig del Born. And of course there’s no shortage of late-night options, particularly around Plaça Reial where dozens of venues help keep the party going until the wee hours. Keeping an eye out for flyers and promoters around town makes it easy to avoid cover charges, too!
