L'Auditori is a musical complex located at Carrer de Lepanto, 150, and was designed by architect Rafael Moneo. It contains 42,000 m2 of space and was opened on March 22, 1999. The building contains three rooms surrounding a central atrium. Sala 1 Pau Casals has seating for 2,200 spectators, Sala 2 Oriol Martorell seats 600, and Sala 3 Tete Montoliu can accommodate 400 visitors. This center for musical teaching and research also contains the center for the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, and the Museu de la Música.

Concerts at L'Auditori range from symphonic music, children's choirs, chamber music, modern music, and ancient music. Pop performers at L'Auditori include Norah Jones and Chenoa. Juan Miguel Romero Llopis and his Banda Municipal de Barcelona frequently offer performances at L'Auditori of Broadway music from Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserable, amongst others. Giovanni Antonini and Romina Lischka offer classical music performances at L'Auditori. This venue offers a wide variety of music for all tastes in a lovely setting. The carefully designed building has excellent acoustics that are the result of research by engineer Higini Arau.
