Though it lurks in the hinterlands of the city, the popular Otto Zutz Club nonetheless manages to pull in an energetic crowd of young clubbers from all over Barcelona for night after night of drinking and dancing.

The club’s size is certainly its biggest draw, with three levels of kitschy chandeliers and disco balls offering different scenes, a fantastic variety of beats, and plenty of bars to accommodate the chaotic tumble of patrons vying for space between sessions.

The main arena on the ground floor features hip-hop and R&B sounds, while the floor above is divided into one room for dancing and another for singing along to popular hits and maybe even riffing on an air guitar.

The top floor is home to Los Altos, a VIP room where clusters of cool but approachable patrons dedicate themselves to going wild to crowd-pleasing dance tunes, creating a real house party vibe.

It may be a bit of a trek, but Otto Zutz is a must for true night owls looking for a hip and out-of-control crowd that parties until dawn.

Tip from Lucas:

If you plan it right, there’s never a need to pay a cover charge at Otto Zutz. You can pick up a free pass at almost any bar in the Old Town, or put yourself on the guest list via Facebook. However, the no-cover charge window usually closes at 3:30am on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, so make sure to arrive half an hour before then.

  • Crowd

Young and wild, early 20s to 30s.

  • Entertainment / Music

Various music scenes on various floors, depending on the night.

  • Food / Miscellaneous

Only the top floor is open on Wednesdays, usually the VIP room. The main room and the top floor are open Thursdays for the popular Double Trouble parties.

  • Prices

Cover charge €15 or free with entry pass or guest list, includes one drink. Beer €5+, cocktails and mixed drinks €10+.

  • What to Wear / Dress Code

    Smart casual.

  • Hot Nights / When to Go

Otto Zutz cleverly reduces the club’s space depending on the popularity of the night, so it rarely seems empty and a good vibe is all but guaranteed every night.

Otto Zutz's "LOCO LUNES." The only place to spend a Monday night.
Madeline J. Apr 16, 2013
Want to start you week in Barcelona off with a bang? This fiesta goes on every Monday from 12am-5am at Otto Zutz. If you are anyone who's anyone in Barcelona, you will find yourself making your way to Otto Zutz on Monday night. Clubbers travel from all over the city and get in line to cure a "Case of the Mondays." Club promoters offer free entrance if you arrive early; which isn't a bad thing because, until Midnight an early arrival is rewarded with 2 Euro bud lights and a shot of Jameson. The music is great, the DJ plays new pop hits played with classic rock remix hits that will have your energy up all night. The club does tend to get a little crowded around 1 AM, therefore I highly recommend having one of Otto Zutz's gold VIP cards, which allows you access to the bar and small dance area on the top floor. Overall, a wild night and a great way to get start your week off with a taste of the Barcelona nightlife.
Crazy Club

Three Stories, different music on every floor, so much going on its impossible to get bored. A room on the third floor actually sprays hookah into the air which is something I've never even seen before. At points in the night the light set up was like a light show. Not as glamorous as other spots in Barcelona such as Opium but definitely still a hot spot
Loco Lunes!

Otto Zutz is a fun club when you go with a group of people on Mondays. The music is decent and the drink aren’t too expensive. However, it gets super crowded making it really hot and hard to walk around. The best bet is to try and get behind the DJ booth where there is not usually anyone so you can have room to dance without being pushed by people around you. Definitely check this place out on a Monday when you do not have anything to do but on other nights, I would try somewhere else that gives you more variety.
Loco Lunes! Crazy club for Monday nights and sometimes Friday. Great location. Somewhat small though.
Grady S. Sep 13, 2012
Otto Zutz has an event every monday night called "Loco Lunes" where certain promoters have free entrance to clubs for their guests (basically everyone who friends them on facebook). There is a decent size bar at the front and then the main dance floor/dj area with another smaller bar in the back. For Loco Lunes it is always packed- usually there are too many people dancing around and sweating while everyone is trying to get on the VIP stage level. Everyone is usually very intoxicated on Monday nights here- which can be fun but sometimes a disaster.
