Party Earth City Hall Review

The Scene

Located just off Plaça Catalunya at the top of Las Ramblas, City Hall is a unique mix of old and new combined to create one of the most stylish clubs in the city.

Located just off Plaça Catalunya at the top of Las Ramblas, City Hall is a unique mix of old and new combined to create one of the most stylish clubs in the city.

Once a theater, the club has maintained the rich décor of velvet curtains and spotlights, which now form the backdrop for a diverse clientele of fashionable local clubbers and international types who come together for dancing every night of the week.

Complementing the décor and adding to the party atmosphere is an excellent variety of music backed up by dazzling projected visuals, falling confetti, and an ear-splitting sound system.

A large bar in the back is a popular hangout for drinks and shots, while patrons in search of an alternate atmosphere can check out the second room upstairs where a different genre of music is usually playing.

The space also features a low ceiling, soft lighting, and a wall of mirrors that create a friendlier house party mood where it’s always easier to mingle and meet new people.

Although there is a more casual vibe early in the week, the atmosphere and clientele at City Hall get more chic as the week progresses, so patrons can expect a bit of glamour by the time Friday rolls around.

Touristy and packed

My disclaimer: I am not a big fan of clubs. I went to City Hall with some friends one night because everyone wanted to go. I guess as far as clubs go, City Hall isn't TOO bad, but it still has that overcrowded can't-get-a-drink feeling. It is a little bit pretentious as well. Anyway, the club itself is located right near plaza catalunya and pretty close to Las Ramblas (walking distance) so it is a target for tourists and out of towners. Not my thing.
Good place to go to escape huge crowds and tourists

I spent a night here when I was visting Barcelona and I absolutely loved it! It has more of a local feel than some of the other clubs in Barcelona, and was filled with more locals than study abroad students. Definitely check this place out! Great DJs, great people.
