Party Earth Review Flying in the face of the earthy vibe of most of Gràcia’s drinking and eating dens, La Baignoire is a distinctly ritzy wine bar much loved by the chatty denizens of this charismatic neighborhood and a sign of the district’s ongoing gentrification. Spain is one of the largest wine producing nations in the world, so it should come as no surprise to find a great deal of amazing wine bars in Barcelona.
There are so many different types of wines in Spain that it’s hard to keep count of the different qualities and varieties. Rioja is both a Spanish wine region and a classic red wine. Other types include cava, which is a sparkling wine similar to champagne, and of course sangria, which is a mix of fruits, sweeteners, and lots of red wine. All wines in Barcelona have varying degrees of quality depending on the region and the aging process.
One of the best Barcelona wine bars is La Baignoire. This dark and intimate venue in Gràcia has an extensive wine list of all types of Spanish vintages and is a chic spot that’s surprisingly affordable.
There are tons of wine bars all over the city though, and whether you’re out on a first date, looking to impress someone you love, want to have easy conversation with a friend, or just love the grapey goodness, there are plenty of wine bars in Barcelona for all types and all budgets.
