The North African theme stops short at the menu, however, where the mix of tapas, hamburgers, salads, and nachos is clearly designed with an international clientele in mind.

The spacious interior is open and offers plenty of elbow room so patrons can spread out and enjoy a meal without feeling cramped, or settle in over sangria on the cushioned banquettes along the walls.

A nice mix of locals and visitors typically frequents Princesa for meals, though a more diverse international crowd seems to take over the bar area for the cheap drink specials after 11pm.

No matter what time of day, the excellent food, chatty crowd, and boisterous late-night bar make Princesa 23 a terrific choice for lunch or pre-club drinks.

Tip from Emma:

Go for the cocktail of the week, then stay for some tapas. Try the sliced pork served in toasted bread and filled with melted cheese, sun dried tomatoes, asparagus, and honey mustard dressing – to die for!

Ambient Spanish and American favorites. A couple of flat-screen TVs show sports.

  • Prices

    Salads €6.50, burgers €8+. Beer €3–€5, wine €12+/bottle, cocktails €6–€7, sangria €3/glass or €15/jug. Weekly featured cocktails €5.

  • What to Wear / Dress Code

    Smart casual.

  • Hot Nights / When to Go

Great for a “comfort food” lunch or on the weekends around 11pm.

Fun and good food!

Princesa 23 is an awesome place to eat and get drinks before a night out. The drinks are all somewhere around 5 euros and the tapas are also pretty fairly priced. The food is a great deal for you money and it’s a great place to meet friends. Last time I was in Barcelona, Princesa had a little booth on the beach where you could eat during the day with basically the same menu. It was great food to have on a hot day at the beach and to get a cold drink. The service is not the fastest but it is a great restaurant to get some grub.
Love the stylish atmosphere!

Princesa 23 is a very classy place to sit down and eat or drink at the bar. The restaurant has a very unique, stylish décor complete with a color-changing bar to showcase their drinks. Whether you’re sitting at the bar, table, or one of the couches, Princesa 23 is a great place to lounge around with your friends and listen to some great, contemporary music playing throughout the restaurant.
Classy and trendy!

Princesa 23 is one of the more popular and trendy bars in the city with fairly priced drinks and quality service. With weekly cocktails and frozen margaritas for 5 euros, this bar definitely allows patrons to come by and have a good time without spending too much. The upscale furniture, dim lighting, and upbeat music make the restaurant a chich and classy place to go to catch up with friends or make new ones. If you're looking for bar food, come before midnight! I didn't get a chance to order the nachos, but they looked SO good!
