Jun 24, 2012 —  Shopping isn’t an activity; it’s a way of life.

And for those of you who are vehemently nodding your heads in agreement, when it comes to your trendy tastes, the average mall simply won’t suffice. Luckily, in the fashion capitals around the world, from New York to Paris to London, designers have gathered in clusters along a few iconic streets to showcase their oh-so-glamorous wares. If shopping is a religion, then these stretches of road are the sacred places of worship.

Imagine making the pilgrimage to the holy fashion mecca of Paris, strolling along Audrey Hepburn’s favorite street and exploring the famous and ultra-niche boutiques. Or envision sipping champagne inside Dior while you spot the latest celeb starlet entering Valentino followed by a pack of paparazzi.

It’s destinations like these that make any shopping lover drool with excitement. So if your best friends are Louis, Marc, and Chanel, you can (and will) watch The Devil Wears Prada on repeat, and you read Vogue with a pen – then here are five streets guaranteed to have you maxing out your credit cards and applying for a dozen more.

The Melrose Trading Post (flea market) at Fairfax High School on Sundays has almost everything! I found some great room decor and a turquoise ring that I wear all the time. Don't be afraid to bargain for a better price!

It's not really my scene, but Robertson in LA has some of the best people watching in the city.

Not a big shopper, but 3rd Street in LA may be my favorite part of the city. Tons of stores, restaurants, bars, etc.
