Because Booze and Breakfast are a Wonderful Thing

Jul 10, 2012 —  Brunch is a portmanteau word, which is a fancy way of saying that someone was too lazy to come up with an original name so they just combined “breakfast” and “lunch” in order to justify eating and guzzling champagne at 11 o’clock in the morning.

Kind of like when we went to the prom and put so much product in our hair that people said we were wearing a gelmet.

But we love brunch here at Party Earth. We love everything about it. We love how it reinforces a perfectly acceptable excuse to sleep in. We love how it justifies over-eating by combing two meals in one sitting. And we love how some of the smartest people we know will point to their ninth mimosa and say, with utter sincerity, “It’s basically orange juice!”

The act of brunching comes in all shapes, sizes, price points, and levels of rapid intoxication. And because part of Party Earth’s duty is ensuring people from all walks of life have a great time, we cover top brunch spots all over the world that are bound to suit just about everyone’s taste and budget.

So whether you’re in the mood for rowdy packs of college kids slinging bottomless Bloodys, rowdy fashionistas pulling corks off Veuve with their teeth, or just a chill haunt that flings open its doors and begs you to feast until you pass out in a bowl of hollandaise, we’re confident this little round-up of some of our favorite global haunts will entice.

And if you’re reading this on a Monday, we certainly hope you appreciate our afterthoughtfulness.

    The White Horse

    Historic Bar / Pub

The White Horse - Historic Bar | Pub in London.
Located in an early 18th-century inn, The White Horse has a long history as a laid-back booze hall, though the twenty-first century has added a dash of dance club to the old stallion. The building retains few of its original features, and even the slick white sign out front aims for a modern flair, but the uncluttered interior with its clean wooden

    Brenda's French Soul Food

    Bistro / Restaurant

Brenda's French Soul Food - Bistro | Restaurant in San Francisco.
Seven days a week, come rain or come shine, long lines of patient patrons form outside Brenda’s French Soul Food, waiting for their names to finally be crossed off the chalkboard and licking their lips in anticipation of the vibrant Creole comfort food waiting for them within. Despite the neighborhood’s seedy reputation, this simple one-room

    Toast Bakery Cafe

    Café / Restaurant

Toast Bakery Cafe - Café | Restaurant in Los Angeles.
A breakfast and brunch staple for Hollywood insiders and insider wannabes, Toast Bakery Cafe is where LA scenesters go to unapologetically stuff themselves with French toast followed by a red velvet cupcake. Or maybe bread pudding. Ooh, or maybe some cheesecake. Lines form down the busy sidewalk by mid-morning, as pretty people with their

Brasserie Beaumarchais - Bar | French Restaurant in New York.
Patrons who like their eggs Benedict served with pumping dance music, pyrotechnic champagne, and beautiful girls dancing wildly on the tables should head to Brasserie Beaumarchais, one of the few venues in town where brunch devolves into an all-day dance party. Lauren Altman Jul 31, 2012 http://beverlyhillsjuice.com/ Get the Banana Manna- partial to the banana almond.
Gabriel Larkman Jul 30, 2012 Bottega Louie in LA is pretty great too. Or for cheap college students there's always Jacks N Joe by USC. Their loaded hashbrowns will make you appreciate all the life choices that brought you to this meal.
Matt Altman Jul 28, 2012 Agree that Toast is a great brunch spot if you are in Los Angeles. there's a good juice bar close by as well. Can't remember the name. Anyone?
Matt Yee Jul 27, 2012 The Griddle is a pretty awesome. The pancakes there are huge, delicious and relatively cheap.
Paula Peña Jul 27, 2012 I've never been to toast but some of my favorite LA spots are The Nickel Diner, The Griddle and last but not least Jacks and Joe (amazing pancakes AND close to USC but be prepared to wait at least an hour for all the hungover frat boys to finish eating.)
Paul Feinstein Jul 27, 2012 Brunch is the laziest meal in the world. But if you 'have' to sit for two hours and eat - go to Joan's - amazing food.
Sara Gunther Jul 26, 2012 Toast is such a LA staple! One of my faves. However, Joan's on Third is pretty tough to beat
Nisha Shah Jul 26, 2012 Don't forget the champagne brunch at Bagatelle on Saturdays! It's so popular it's almost impossible to get a reservation.
RedNYellowRoses Jul 26, 2012 mmmm Toast is so good! Just a little hint though...if there is a big crowd there, I would recommend walking to either Joan's on 3rd or Doughboys, both equally as amazing and both on 3rd street.
Lauren Altman Jul 26, 2012 Toast has the best banana chocolate chip pancakes!
