Jul 10, 2012 — Brunch is a portmanteau word, which is a fancy way of saying that someone was too lazy to come up with an original name so they just combined “breakfast” and “lunch” in order to justify eating and guzzling champagne at 11 o’clock in the morning.
Kind of like when we went to the prom and put so much product in our hair that people said we were wearing a gelmet.
But we love brunch here at Party Earth. We love everything about it. We love how it reinforces a perfectly acceptable excuse to sleep in. We love how it justifies over-eating by combing two meals in one sitting. And we love how some of the smartest people we know will point to their ninth mimosa and say, with utter sincerity, “It’s basically orange juice!”
The act of brunching comes in all shapes, sizes, price points, and levels of rapid intoxication. And because part of Party Earth’s duty is ensuring people from all walks of life have a great time, we cover top brunch spots all over the world that are bound to suit just about everyone’s taste and budget.
So whether you’re in the mood for rowdy packs of college kids slinging bottomless Bloodys, rowdy fashionistas pulling corks off Veuve with their teeth, or just a chill haunt that flings open its doors and begs you to feast until you pass out in a bowl of hollandaise, we’re confident this little round-up of some of our favorite global haunts will entice.
And if you’re reading this on a Monday, we certainly hope you appreciate our afterthoughtfulness.
