Feb 10, 2016 —  We’re anticipating some seriously good album releases in 2016. Which of these will you be playing again and again?

1. Jack Garratt ‘Phase’

Buying Jack's album ‘Phase’ is just one of many good gift ideas for him, but if you needed a little more persuading, check out what Jack’s already got under his belt: he’s won the Brit Award’s Critics’ Choice prize, the BBC Introducing trophy and, most recently, BBC’s Sound of 2016.

2. David Bowie ‘Blackstar’

Tributes are being paid the whole world over to David Bowie, who died this January after suffering with cancer for 18 months. Blackstar is Bowie’s 25th studio album, and is a “carefully orchestrated farewell to his fans” according to the album’s producer, Tony Visconti.

3. Rihanna 'Anti'

Rihanna’s been hinting at her new material for a new time, and has finally released her new album 'Anti'. She will be touring starting in February 2016 so you can experience her new tracks live.

4. Lady Gaga (TBC)

Lady Gaga has been hard at work on her fifth studio album, recording with RedOne (the producer who teamed up with her to create ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Poker Face’ amongst others), and Mark Ronson (allegedly). We’re hoping Gaga will be releasing it soon!

5. Drake ‘Views From The 6’

Drake has made a huge name for himself, selling millions of records with his atmospheric, brooding take on hip-hop. With no official release date for 2016 (but cryptic Instagram posts from producer Noah ‘40’ Shebib), we’re anticipating Drake's new album to drop any day now.

6. Red Hot Chilli Peppers (TBC)

It’s been five years since the Chilli Peppers released ‘I’m With You’, so we’re pleased to see new material is on the horizon. With a European tour kicking off in Germany this summer, we’re hoping we can buy the album before the year’s out.

7. Sia ‘This is Acting’

Sia’s latest release is a compilation of the records she’s written for other people – only to have them rejected. As a prolific songwriter for other artists, and chart-topper at that, we’re very excited to hear what she’s been up to.

8. The 1975 ‘I like it When You Sleep, for you are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of it’

The 1975 are huge advocates of pop, which is nothing less than you’d expect if you’re already familiar with their music. Their newest release has an unmistakable 80s vibe thrown in for good measure, and is precisely what we’ll be putting on when we need a pick me up.

9. Kanye West ‘Waves’

Kanye’s been teasing us with his anticipated album by partially releasing it increments with ‘Only One’ and ‘FourFiveSeconds’. We’ll be following Kim and Kanye as they tweet debuts of his new release every Friday before devouring it all over again when he releases Swish in its entirety.

10. Royal Blood (TBC)

Ok, so there’s no actual second album in existence yet, but the duo have confirmed that they’re in the process of writing a second album on their tour bus. They’ve explained that it’s a 'creative process' and won’t release it until it’s 'amazing'. We’ll just cross our fingers that we get to enjoy it in 2016.
