Venues in Amsterdam

Because the city’s residents are so diverse and open to so many things, there is a never-ending supply of venues in Amsterdam that caters to all walks of life looking for all types of events virtually every day of the week.

First there’s the music scene which features an incredible number of Amsterdam venues where the biggest stars of today rock out in front of thousands and the brightest eyed wannabes perform on the smallest stages in front of friends and family. Some of the most well-known venues in the city are Heineken Music Hall, Paradiso and Melkweg. Bimhuis, meanwhile, is the city’s stalwart classical concert venue and an architectural masterpiece.

On the sports front, Amsterdam Arena plays host to Ajax, the most popular football team in the city but also doubles as one of the grandest concert venues where international superstars come to perform.

For other nightlife options, there are more than 50 theaters bursting with great shows and comedy, over a hundred art galleries, and 50+ museums, which would make it hard to run out of stuff to do. In addition, the nightlife complex Westergasfabriek is home to countless bars, clubs, lounges, restaurants, and live music venues where denizens can come to eat, drink, and party long into the night.
