Rozentheater Information

The Rozentheater, located on the Rozengracht in Amsterdam, is the first and only theater in the Netherlands that specifically caters to only young people.

Built in 1912 as one of the first multiplexes in the country, it was later converted into a vaudeville theater. Eventually, the theater closed in 1987 and lost its public function. However, after undergoing extensive renovations in 2004, the theater reopened in 2005 as a theater/nightclub.

The modern theater embraces an old-fashioned style, with the front of the building featuring stained glass dating from 1912. Between a large auditorium and smaller room, the venue has a capacity of around 260 people.

Events at the Rozentheater range from theater performances, live DJs, and dance shows to cabaret, poetry readings, and films.
