Events in Amsterdam

There are always a ton of events in Amsterdam to keep you busy both day and night. Festivals sprout up like weeds, major fashion events billow over the city, bands roll up a fat dose of live music, and travel writers make lots of stupid analogies to marijuana.

Folks enamored with classical music will find lots of artsy concerts in that genre, but there are also jazz, pop and big dance club events daily, as well as countless cool locals chilling by the canal and strumming their well-worn guitars.

Sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to love, whether it’s watching Ajax Amsterdam play a soccer match, getting in a round of tennis, an exciting game of hockey, or joining a cycling tour in a city where practically everyone owns a bike.

And to add to all this, the city is the undeniable shopping capital of the Netherlands, catering to trendy shoppers, antique lovers, second-hand hams, and everything in-between.
