The Black Keys have been making garage rock hits since their 2001 beginnings in Akron, Ohio. With Dan Auerbach on guitar and vocals and Patrick Carney on drums, the two member band manages to make catchy rock songs with a wall of sound. Throughout their career, The Black Keys have earned three Grammy Awards and have sold over 2 million records in the US.
After dropping out of college, The Black Keys released the basement record, The Big Come Up, in 2002. The debut generated buzz online and helped earn the band garage rock fans all around the world. With Rubber Factory in 2004, The Black Keys secured their standing in rock history. The band gained major label attention with the record and signed to Nonesuch Records in 2006.
In 2010, The Black Keys released the critically acclaimed album Brothers and won the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. Coproduced by Danger Mouse, Brothers won a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2011 and was certified platinum in the US and double platinum in Canada. The 2011 album, El Camino, met the high expectations of critics and fans and peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200.
