Odeon is a multi-purpose venue located within the heart of Amsterdam’s Canal Belt. Originally constructed in 1663 as a beer brewery, the building was rebuilt in the 1830s as Amsterdam’s first concert hall. Historic concerts at Odeon include performances by David Bowie and Elton John.
In the late 20th century, Odeon was again converted to a cinema and auction house. Finally, in 2005, Odeon reopened after an extensive renovation and now houses a café, bar, restaurant, and restored concert hall. The hall functions as both a nightclub and a space for presentations, meetings, and performances.
Situated right in the cultural triangle of the Leidseplein, Rembrandtplein, and Spui, Odeon also hosts many international events and activities.
