East / East Docks, Amsterdam –
Hotel Arena is an absolutely gigantic club with plenty of bars and dance floors to keep things exciting all night long.
Though marble pillars and painted ceilings recall the building’s history as a former chapel, the space has been fully modernized with illuminated bars, a killer sound system, and a multicolored disco glow that flashes across the crowd.
DJs hover over the packed dance floor, where fashion-conscious clubbers show off their best moves on the scattered platforms, while a separate room provides hip-hop fans and their tasteful bling with a place all their own.
Open only on the weekends, the club gets popping with a suave yet rowdy crowd, especially when there’s a special theme night.
The outgoing, energetic clientele and the upbeat atmosphere make Hotel Arena a great choice for a late night out – and probably explain the venue’s 2009 Nightlife Awards nomination for best club.
Stylish, cool, and energetic, early 20s and up.
DJs spin on theme nights, which include the 80s Verwantwoord and the 90s Now Night as well as Salsa Lounge evenings and nights featuring current techno and house beats. Check the website for the schedule of events.
